Making it Count: How We Helped Rug Doctor Inspire Their Team

Rug Doctor had a clear objective for their employee conference: make it count.

After a year of significant internal change, this wasn’t a box-ticking exercise. It needed to recognise progress, energise the team, and set the tone for what came next. We were brought in to help shape how that message was delivered.

The Challenge: A Key Presentation, No Presenter

One of the conference’s most important presentations was due to be delivered by the Sales Director. Unfortunately, he would be on holiday at the time of the event.

Our solution was to bring him into our podcast studio in advance, record his full presentation to camera, and integrate the footage directly into his PowerPoint slides. The result was a seamless, professional presentation that landed exactly as intended, with HIS message and delivery fully intact.

The Hype Film: Celebrating the People Behind the Business

Alongside the presentation, Rug Doctor commissioned a “hype” film to reflect on the year and celebrate the people behind the business.

As Rug Doctor didn’t have existing footage we could tap into, our team spent time at their headquarters in Worthing, capturing the office environment, the factory floor, and the work of the field service team. The aim was to represent the business honestly and inclusively, showing how each part contributes to the wider picture.

While the film itself is for internal use and can’t be shared publicly, it achieved exactly what it was designed to do — creating a genuine sense of pride and shared achievement in the business’s success over the previous year.

Importantly, the footage captured now forms a wider content library that Rug Doctor can draw on in the future, extending the value of the project beyond a single deliverable.

On the Day: Photography and Highlights Reel

On the day of the conference, one of our team was on site to capture photography throughout the event and gather footage for a short highlights film.

Having these moments properly documented gives businesses something tangible to look back on, share internally, and build upon in future communications.

What Made This Work

This project worked because every element had a clear job to do.

The recorded presentation solved a genuine logistical problem without compromising impact. The hype film focused on people rather than just business statistics. The on-the-day capture ensured the moment was properly documented, not just experienced and forgotten.

Nothing was done for the sake of it. Everything was designed to support the purpose of the day — to inform, motivate, and bring people together.

That’s how we like to approach internal communications: with clarity, purpose, and respect for the audience.

If you have an event, conference, or internal communications project on the horizon, we’d love to talk.
