Aston Marina

The Client

Aston Marina is a restaurant, wedding venue and marina all merged into one. I know, cool right? They offer some of the most sublime, locally sourced food and beverages. Honestly, going there is a nightmare because we just want to eat and drink everything! It’s all so lush.

The Aston Marina gang came to us for a one-off shoot with a remit to capture the interior, vibe, and team.

They bring something different and unique to the town of Stone, which sets them apart from their competitors and attracts customers from afar. The location, lighting and interior make you feel like you have been transported to a luxury holiday destination. The fact that they are local to us helped our passions bubble up. It’s a delight to enhance the marketing of a local business and help them achieve their goals.

The Brief

Aston Marina needed a bank of imagery for their in-house team to use across their new website, social media platforms and print marketing materials. They’d seen some of the work we’d done and slid into our DMs.

Due to this being a pre-launch project, the aim was to capture the space in a way that would promote Aston Marina as a bonafide gourmet restaurant, with guaranteed high-quality food and boss beverages.

We were tasked with the following:

  • To capture the interior, it basically sells itself.
  • To photograph key items on their new menu (made us really hungry).
  • To showcase their up-market vibe.
  • To demonstrate their genuine uniqueness and what makes them stand out from competitors.
  • To highlight Aston Marina’s unique and beautifully English location.

Our Process

Due to this shoot being focused on the launch of Aston Marina’s new restaurant, our priority was to capture the images in a way that showcased the uniqueness and luxury feel of their gaff. We were given free rein when it came to planning all of the shots, which is why we decided that the best approach would be to emphasise the ambience and lighting to further bolster the fine dining experience.

We also experimented with wide shots of the interiors to show the scale of the space, with close-ups of the fine details that had been carefully chosen to accompany the waterfront theme.

While we were there, we also grabbed a selection of new dishes and drinks off the menu (the ones the firm wanted to highlight, not just the ones we wanted to consume). This was done to give prospective customers across the company’s socials a glimpse of what was to come, and to build excitement and momentum needed for the grand opening!

What we delivered

At the end of the project, Aston Marina received a bank of imagery that they could freely use across their marketing materials, including food-centric imagery, pictures that show their stunning selection of beverages, the grandness of their interior, and the fine details that literally made the place unforgettable. If you head over to their website, you’ll see that it now features a gallery of all of those images so that customers can envision the experience before arriving.

Final thoughts

It was a pleasure to work with Aston Marina to bring their vision to life, and we are super happy to see that their success is growing year on year! If you’re ever in the Stone area, you NEED to head down to the Marina for a bite to eat. It’s amazeballs!
