The Client:
BoSS Access Towers
BoSS Access Towers, a part of ProDriven Global Brands, the same company that brings you Werner Ladders, is a dominant force in the construction industry, renowned for their access solutions and platform products. Their presence is ubiquitous on building sites and manufacturing facilities. When they approached us to create the campaign imagery and video for their newest product, the BoSS QuickPod Platform, we were thrilled. BoSS Access Towers provided a detailed brief and examples of their previous marketing efforts, but they were particularly drawn to our unique style and creativity. They wanted this campaign to stand out from their past clean, clinical imagery and instead embrace a more gritty and relatable aesthetic.
The brief
BoSS’s brief included the creation of:
- Lifestyle imagery of the BoSS QuickPod Platform in use.
- White background images with cutouts for their website, literature, and catalogues.
- An instructional video on how to set up the platform.
- An additional social media launch video that was fast-paced and suitable for promoting the new product on various platforms.
The process
1. Concept Development
BoSS’s traditional approach involved clean, white background imagery. For this project, they wanted something different – gritty, relatable, and stylistic. We planned to deliver this through a combination of studio and on-location shoots, blending professional aesthetics with real-world application.
2. Location and Set Design
We shot the campaign across two locations:
– Our studio in Staffordshire for the lifestyle and instructional videos.
– An industrial estate with a large van to showcase the platform’s storage capabilities.
3. Selecting the Model
We enlisted Carl Chance, a social media influencer and skilled carpenter with a significant following. Carl’s authentic presence and practical expertise made him the ideal choice for this project.
4. The Shoot
The shoot involved a two-person team: a photographer and a videographer. Over the course of a full day, we captured:
– Lifestyle imagery of the BoSS QuickPod Platform in action.
– Clean, white background studio images for catalogues and websites.
– An instructional video demonstrating the platform setup.
– A short, fast-paced promotional film for social media.
5. Delivering Unexpected Quality
Our goal was to elevate BoSS Access Tower’s brief beyond their expectations. By infusing our distinct style and creativity, we produced content that was gritty, relatable, and visually striking. This new approach resonated well with them, offering a fresh perspective compared to their previous campaigns.
The deliverables
Lifestyle Imagery: Engaging, real-world images of the BoSS QuickPod Platform in use.
Studio Images: Clean, clinical white background images with cutouts.
Instructional Video: Detailed setup guide filmed in our studio.
Promotional Film: A dynamic, fast-paced video tailored for social media platforms.
Outcome
BoSS Access Towers was pleasantly surprised by the look, feel, and quality of the content we produced. Our ability to take their brief and elevate it into something unexpected and compelling led to a successful campaign. The positive feedback and results from this project have paved the way for ongoing collaborations with BoSS and the wider ProDriven Global Brands group.
